Stand Up Paddle Boarding

Stand Up Paddle also known as Stand Up Paddling (SUP) or Paddle Boarding has come to Divers UnderGround Tours!!

Let us share our love for the water and the unique water bodies of the Riviera Maya with you on one of our Private and Personalized Paddle Boarding tours!

SUP is the fastest growing water sport in the world, and no wonder why!!!!!  It is easy to learn, fun and safe!!!!  It is great for every level and (almost) every age!  Not to mention, a great workout while being in paradise!

We have scouted out some of the best paddle boarding places in the Riviera Maya for you.  You can pick the spots or we can help you pick the best for you!

Xcacel Beach (Weather Permitting)

This beach is off the beaten track, south of Akumal.  Still a hidden gem, shhhhh, don’t tell anyone!  A true gem!  There is even a small Cenote to have a fresh water dip!

Xpu Ha Beach (Weather Permitting)

This beach is just south of Puerto Aventuras and quieter then the beaches of Playa del Carmen!  A popular sight for Turtle Egg Laying (ask us for more info!)

Puerto Aventuras Marina

A small marina community with beautiful homes and vacation rentals.  There are many canals to explore paddle boarding. Here the conditions are fantastic most of the time and when the weather permits, we can venture out to the beautiful white sanded inlet and relax for a bit in the shallow waters.

Level: Novice – Experienced

Cenote Manatee (Casa Cenote)

Popular amongst snorkelers and divers, Casa Cenote is surrounded by stunning mangroves.  It has a direct connection by an underwater cave to the sea creating the perfect habitat for juvenile fish, Tarpon and ‘Panchito’ our friendly crocodile.  (Don’t worry, he is very shy!)   It is one of the last of it’s kind that we have access to in the area.  Paddle your way thru crystal clear shallow waters and don’t forget to look up into the trees to see a variety of wild birds, even toucans have been spotted!

Level: Novice – Experienced

Lagoon Kaan Luum

This Lagoon is just south of Tulum and a short drive into the jungle.  After you walk on the handmade pier, you turn past the trees and presented with this surreal view in the middle of the jungle – a huge blue hole, surrounded by a shallow yellow clay bank.  Kaan Luum in Maya actually means ‘yellow earth’.  The scenery is amazing and so peaceful out on the water!

Add a Snorkeling Tour

After the SUP tour, you probably want to just throw yourself in the water and see what lies just below the surface!  Here are a few of our favorite spots and best recommendations:

Cenotes Sac Aktun

Now the longest underground river system in the world, this is one not to miss.  In Maya Sac Aktun means ‘white cave’.  Snorkel into e cave and witness breathtaking formations in crystal clear fresh waters!

Cenotes Dos Ojos

This stunning location has crystal clear waters and open air cavern areas to snorkel in.

Yal Ku Lagoon

This small gem is an inlet, with fresh water that is fed by the underwater river system and an opening directly to the sea and surrounded by a wonderful sculpture garde.  Here you can witness the phenomenon called a ‘halocline’ where fresh water meets the salt water creating a visual disturbance.  There are large rock formations, not much coral due to the fresh water, but this is the nursery for fish, so you will find an array of juvenile fish!  Fantastic conditions for snorkeling!

Prices are based on distance.
