TDI Decompression Procedures
From Bottom Time
to Ascent Strategy
Plan, calculate, and execute staged decompression dives with intent and control.
Deco Procedures (to 45m/150ft)
Push beyond no-decompression limits, safely and deliberately. With the TDI Decompression Procedures course, you learn to plan, configure, and execute dives with mandatory decompression stops using appropriate gases and disciplined ascent control. It’s the foundation for deeper, longer, and more complex objectives, and the bridge to the TDI Extended Range and Trimix courses.
Prerequisites:
Required Certification:
Advanced Adventure Diver (or equivalent).
- Can be combined with the TDI Advanced Nitrox course.
Plus
- 18 Years Old
- 25 Logged Dives
- Basic buoyancy control
Why train with Divers UnderGround?
You’ll work with instructors who actively dive with actual objectives in the Riviera Maya, bringing field-tested procedures into every session. We keep ratios tight, structure land drills and in-water coaching for measurable outcomes, and debrief with clear, data-driven feedback. Cenotes and open-water sites provide the perfect depth profiles and conditions to refine gas planning, ascent control, and contingencies until the process is calm and repeatable, skills you’ll carry into Extended Range, Trimix, Cave, and Wreck projects.
What you can Do with this Certification
Plan and conduct dives with mandatory decompression stops
Use air, Nitrox, and oxygen for decompression (as appropriate)
Reach deeper routes in caves, wrecks, and technical reefs with control
Start advanced courses: Extended Range, Trimix, Advanced Wreck
Join technical projects and expeditions with greater autonomy and safety
All within a fun, professional, and safe setting. You’ll train through real-world simulations, on land and underwater, applying from day one everything you need to become a dependable and confident Decompression Procedures diver.
WHILE OTHERS SEEK THE SURFACE,
WE EXPLORE WHAT LIES BENEATH.
What Skills
Will You Learn?
- Decompression planning: gas choice, runtime building, contingency profiles
- Gas management: consumption calculations, MOD planning, staging for bottom and deco mixes
- Ascent control: stop discipline, SMB deployment, team positioning
- Emergency management: gas loss, equipment failures, missed/skipped stops
- Tools: using computers and tables (including gradient factors) for deco
- Human factors: stress evaluation, teamwork, decision-making under pressure
