My wife Kathy and I dove for two days with Camilo Garcia in the cenotes. Day one was at Dos Ojos, which we later learned was our “check-out dive,” and day two was at Dreamgate Cenote. Both days were absolutely beautiful dives. As a guide and instructor, Camilo is personable, professional, and deeply knowledgeable about the geography and history of the cenotes. We had the privilege of having him to ourselves both days, and it felt like diving with an old friend.

In recent years, we’ve been fortunate to dive in some amazing places, including Raja Ampat, the Revillagigedo Archipelago, Cocos Island, and others. We had previously decided that cave diving probably wasn’t for us, but Camilo gently introduced us to the magical world of the Mexican cenotes, and now we are hooked. We love the Riviera Maya and will definitely return to dive with Camilo again — both to explore more of the preserved underwater and underground history of the region and simply to spend more time with him. One source even noted that this is the largest underwater cavern system in the world.

We may even come back with our dive club, pursue cave-diving certification, and spend a week exploring together. This was an easy 5-star experience, and we are already looking forward to our next visit.

I recently completed an incredible training journey here, covering everything from Cavern and Intro to Cave to Full Cave and Stage Cave courses. The entire experience was professional, thorough, and truly memorable.

I cannot speak highly enough of my instructor Camilo—he is truly great at what he does. His deep expertise, patience, and passion for cave diving made me feel completely confident and supported throughout every stage of the training. I’m also so grateful for Vivi, the instructor\'s assistant; she was incredibly helpful throughout the courses and even made some very nice chocolate!

I had an absolutely amazing experience doing my sidemount course with Divers Underground. From the moment I arrived, everyone on the team was incredibly warm, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about what they do.

Vivi kept us fueled throughout the theory sessions with endless coffee and delicious homemade chocolates, and every dive day we were sent off with snacks, water, and even more chocolate — such a thoughtful touch that made the whole experience feel really personal and cared for.

My instructor, Martin, was exceptional. He’s extremely knowledgeable and explained everything in a clear, calm, and easy-to-follow way. I always felt safe and supported, both during training and while diving in the caverns.

The cenotes themselves were absolutely breathtaking — it genuinely felt like entering another world. The entire experience was unforgettable, and I’m so grateful to the whole Divers Underground team for making it so special. Highly recommend to anyone looking for professional training and an incredible diving experience in Mexico!

Camilo, the owner, guide and instructor is very experienced in TEK cavern/cave diving in Cenotes, highly skilled and with high standards of safety.

As I went in low-peak season I was able to dive without other clients and the cenotes were all for us. His partner Vivi helped with photo/video and lights so there were two guides with me :)

Ideal for those looking for a more ‘premium’ experience either in recreational or TEK training. Slightly higher price point than large massified dive centers, but worth the premium cost if you look for quality.

Did the intro and advanced cave diving with Camilo. Incredible experience! You can clearly sense the he has been doing this for a long time by the confidence he provides. Knows the cenotes very well and a very reasonable person to treat with. Highly recommended for those how are thinking about giving cave diving a try!

Just back from an epic cave diving trip in Mexico, where I completed the TDI Full Cave Diver course with Dive Underground. Our instructor, Camilo, was phenomenal—expert, patient, and safety-focused. Our diving buddy Vivi was a gem, so kind and helpful, assisting Camilo and making us feel supported throughout. Together, they made the intense course on line navigation, gas management, and emergency skills engaging and achievable. The small group size ensured personal attention, and earning my certification was a huge win!
Diving cenotes was mind-blowing—crystal waters, stalactites, and magical light beams. Dive Underground’s gear was top-notch, and Camilo and Vivi guided us through incredible routes. They handled logistics flawlessly and shared fascinating cenote insights.

Tip: Bring a 5mm wetsuit (it’s chilly!). Highly recommend Camilo, Vivi, and Dive Underground for an amazing cave diving adventure!

It's been more than 10 years since I started diving with Camilo and I keep coming back sometimes more than 2 times a year. What can I say about Camilo, it's more than a great professional and a great cave guide and instructor at this time is no longer someone that I pay a service it's my buddy/great friend.
I love all the dives and the most important the after dives.

I truly do not have enough wonderful things to say about Divers UnderGround. Camilo and Vivian were friendly, professional dive experts who took excellent care of me. They made each step of the journey seamless, from booking to picking me up at my hotel and ensuring we had all the supplies prepared. They took neat photos of me on their GoPro, took me diving in two cenote sites, strategizing to minimize crowds, then arranged for my Cozumel scuba dive with a private boat charter, instructors, and supplies. You would be hard pressed to find a superior dive shop to explore these world class sites! 5*****!! :)

I dove the cenotes with Camilo back around 2011 and it was the most memorable diving experience I\'ve had. I was terrified of the notion, but he made it very comfortable. I highly recommend him and his company for a safe and fun experience and can\'t wait to go back and do it again.

Dive with them during Jan 2020, first try dive into the cave, it is exciting for me as a advance diver, their instructor really experienced and diver care , nice and helpful. Great personalized attention and excellent training, always have a good time while learning and improving skills. I’ve done all my cave and advanced tech training with them, won’t go anywhere else.

My husband and I were fortunate to have found Divers Underground during a working vacation in Playa del Carmen. Right from the start Lara went above and beyond assisting me with my travel plans, not just related to diving, but she gave me excellent advice on great places to eat, airb&bs in the area, and more. We are wedding photographers and Lara helped me find some great out of the way locations to bring our bride & groom for pictures.
She had personalized water bottles waiting for us when we checked in for our first dive and made us espressos each morning before we left the shop. She, Camillo and her staff treated us like old friends. They were super friendly, ECO-friendly, accommodating, very professional and very knowledgeable about the area.
We did 6 dives over a week. Our schedule was all over the place, but they fit us in with a smile. I can\'t recommend them enough. We hope to return to take some of the amazing cavern diving classes they offer.

Best Dive Shop in Riveria Maya! Lara is very personal and accommodating with your dive schedule. They pick the best sites for your comfort level and based on the weather/conditions.
I dove four cenotes on Two different days with Jose, who is down to earth and really knowledgeable about the dive sites.

I had the pleasure of having two dives in the Dos Ojos, Cenotoes system with Divers Underground. My guide Carlos was fantastic, providing an exhilarating yet safe diving experience. Lara, one of the co-owners was very accommodating and professional while planning my excursion. Once in a life time experience, that I would recommend to everyone!

AMAZING EXPERIENCE DIVING IN LA RIVIERA MAYA

Antes del viaje:
Antes de realizar mi viaje me habían recomendado a Divers Underground para hacer mis buceos en la Riviera Maya. Y quedé feliz de haberlos escogido, mi experiencia con ellos fue magnífica. Desde el momento en que me puse en contacto con Lara de Divers Underground la atención fue genial: respuestas rápidas y muy amable su atención. Me explicaron todo súper bien, e inclusive se ofrecieron a ayudarme con la planeación del resto de mi viaje. Siempre dispuestos a atender cualquier solicitud que tuviera. Pude reservar las fechas de mis buceos en los cenotes y en Cozumel Con anticipación.
Los buceos:
Para el día de los buceos a los Cenotes, me desplacé hasta su centro de buceo (previamente me habían enviado un mapa para ubicarme y me habían explicado las alternativas de transporte para llegar). Como yo no tengo el equipo completo, ellos me prestaron lo que me faltaba, todo en muy buen estado. Ya en los Cenotes, mi guía Carlos (súper amable y profesional), antes de cada inmersión me explicaba en detalle el plan de cada buceo. En los buceos pude disfrutar de cada momento al máximo, Carlos siempre muy atento a cualquier cosa que necesitara.
Para los buceos a Cozumel, me recogían en el hotel y me llevaban hasta el punto donde salía el bote, y luego cuando regresaba, Lara me estaba esperando y luego me llevaban de nuevo a mi hotel. En el bote a Cozumel, Andrés fue mi guía, también una persona muy amable. Los buceos fueron siempre en grupos con pocas personas.
En general, me gustó mucho lo personalizado del servicio, la amabilidad de todos y el cuidado que ponían a cada detalle para hacerte sentir siempre bien. No sobra decir que los snacks y comida entre buceos también fueron muy buenos. El buceo en estos sitios de por sí es maravilloso, pero el equipo de Divers Underground hizo todavía mejor la experiencia. Muchas gracias a Lara, Carlos y Andrés por hacer de mis buceos experiencias geniales e inolvidables. Súper recomendado Divers Underground, seguro volveré a México a bucear de nuevo con ellos.
