Over 10 years of experience.

Where others see a list of tasks, I see the opportunity to create memorable experiences. I am Alfredo Sosa, a dive instructor and guide with over 11 years of experience leading teams, coordinating operations, and ensuring every dive is safe, seamless, and filled with unforgettable moments.

The ocean has shaped my life, and my passion lies in sharing it with others. As an instructor for Divemasters and Assistant Instructors, I emphasize punctuality, empathy, and clear communication, skills that help overcome challenges both underwater and on land.

My mission is to ensure that every diver, no matter their level of experience, feels welcome, secure, and inspired to return to the water. I speak both English and Spanish, but beyond languages, what defines me is the smile I leave on the faces of those I accompany on each adventure.

I will guide you on your diving adventures in cenotes and the ocean, and also be your instructor for SDI recreational courses, so you can learn, enjoy, and explore safely from day one.

Alfredo's diving journey began in 2013 in Cancun,
Mexico, where he took his first breaths underwater.

An initial curiosity transformed into a vocation and one of his greatest joys.

Inspired by the ocean and guided by his passion for exploration, Alfredo began his diving career over a decade ago. He became a professional dive instructor and, while leading dives across the region, discovered the unique magic of the cenotes.

From the very first descent, he felt a profound connection, one that made him want to go further, stay longer, and dedicate himself fully to sharing these hidden worlds with others. That was the moment his journey as both a guide and mentor truly began.

Since then, he has dedicated himself to guiding new divers on their very first underwater breaths, always with patience, humor, and a genuine smile. Alfredo has a natural gift for teaching: he makes what could feel intimidating feel approachable. He turns it into an experience that is safe, enjoyable, and full of discovery. Over the years, he has helped countless students gain confidence in the water, showing them that diving is not only about skills, but also about connection, joy, and the unforgettable moments that last long after you surface. His presence at Divers UnderGround embodies the spirit of the team: professional, approachable, and deeply passionate about sharing the magic of diving.

ALFREDO'S GOAL IS TO HELP
DIVERS FEEL SAFE, CONFIDENT
AND EXCITED TO EXPLORE THE
UNDERWATER WORLD

Helping Others Discover the Magic Beneath the Surface

In 2013 Alfredo took his first steps into the world of professional diving, beginning a journey that would soon become his life’s passion. By 2014, he had achieved the level of PADI Divemaster, gaining valuable experience assisting courses and guiding divers in the Riviera Maya. Just a year later, in 2015, he became an SDI Open Water Scuba Diving Instructor, opening the door to teaching and mentoring new generations of divers.

Since then, Alfredo has continued to expand his knowledge and skills, becoming an instructor for SDI Computer Nitrox and Wreck Diver specialties. His focus has always been on making diving accessible, safe, and enjoyable, guiding students with patience and enthusiasm as they discover the underwater world. Alfredo’s career reflects his dedication to both personal growth and helping others find joy and confidence beneath the surface.

Today, Alfredo continues to grow as a diver and an instructor.

Seeking to expand his skills so he can give more back to his students, he is currently working toward becoming a certified Sidemount Diver, advancing his training in SDI/TDI Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures, and aiming to achieve the level of Advanced Wreck Diving Instructor. This constant pursuit of growth reflects his belief that learning never stops in diving. For Alfredo, every step forward is not only a personal milestone but also a way to share new knowledge, techniques, and inspiration with those he teaches.

HIS MISSION IS TO INSPIRE TRUST AND JOY IN NEW DIVERS,
HELPING THEM DISCOVER THE MAGIC BENEATH THE SURFACE.

What matters most is that every dive leaves you smiling, learning, and

carrying home stories worth remembering.
